PlantingWindow provides climatological planting-timing information for home gardening. By using the site you accept these terms.

Informational use only

Planting windows are estimates derived from historical climate normals and published extension guidance. They are not weather forecasts, not a guarantee against frost or crop loss, and not agronomic, professional, or safety advice. Real conditions vary by year and by site; you are responsible for your own planting decisions. See the methodology for exactly what the numbers mean.

No warranty

The site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, PlantingWindow and its operator are not liable for losses arising from use of the site, including garden or crop losses.

Data and content

Underlying datasets belong to their publishers (USDA/OSU, NOAA/NCEI, U.S. Census Bureau) under their respective terms; cited extension publications belong to their institutions. This site's own text, design, and code are © PlantingWindow. You may quote results with attribution and a link; automated bulk scraping that burdens the service is not permitted.

Corrections and changes

We may update data, calculations, and these terms; material changes will be dated. Error reports are welcome via the corrections page.
